BUS PAYROLL ACCOUNTING:
This Payroll Accounting program is designed to provide understanding in fundamentals of payroll accounting and finance including payroll transactions to accounts, record-keeping systems, accounting software operation, and general accounting principles and practices. Upon completion of this program, the student among other items would able to:
- Discuss payroll procedures regarding company set up, new files, customers, vendors, invoices, purchase orders, and general journal entries and describe how to enter and edit data accurately,
- Describe payroll details pertaining to income and expense accounts, asset & liability accounts, reminders and alerts, subaccounts, and estimates,
- Explain how to use payroll accounting software, journalize payroll transactions, apply payroll accounting systems and procedures for wages and salaries, and prepare required FICA forms,
- Outline payroll and personnel records required by federal and state laws and requirements of the Fair Labor Standards Act, Social Security Act,
- Describe employees’ withholding records, income taxes, and complete required federal and state returns.
EDUCATION & JOB EXPERIENCE:
- Ability to use Microsoft Windows
- Ability to work with a computer

MATERIALS & EQUIPMENT
